Kindness: The Elixir for a Healthy Life

Updated: Dec 9, 2021

There is no ultimate guide to kindness or to a happier life. A kind person is not one that does not possess the ability to be cruel. A kind person is one who is capable of acts of cruelty but consistently chooses kindness.

The idea that kindness is important for your soul has been known for a long time. A lot of people have had this belief for the past few years. Muslims make sure that charity is a big part of Ramadan, and both Hindus and Buddhists agree on its Karmic value. Yet only now are scientists and doctors really getting a proper handle on just how beneficial kindness can be to both our mental and physical health. It both protects us against the most common mental health problems and provides massive benefits to several bodily functions. To really understand what kindness can do for you, check out a few of these tested beliefs.

AN EXTENSION OF YOUR LIFETIME

Everyone wants to live as long as they possibly can, and those who put kindness into practice in their day to day lives will definitely do just like that. A study by the Harvard Medical School found that people who used the Buddhist inspired technique known as ‘Loving Kindness Meditation can experience rejuvenation that can prevent premature ageing.

THE SATISFACTION OF LIVING YOUR LIFE TO ITS BEST

Having a long life might be something everyone wants, but everyone will also want to feel satisfied and happy as they travel along the ride of life. Fortunately, this is a benefit that science very clearly shows comes about when people fit kindness and generous behaviour into their everyday lives. A Women’s Institute found out that people feel more generally satisfied and stable in their life the more they give.

THE SOLUTION TO YOUR ANXIETY

Anxiety is increasingly diagnosed as a problem that so many different types of people are facing as the modern world applies new and different pressures upon our psyches. Kindness, generosity, and a general approach of goodness to the wider world is apparently a very effective balm against this problem.

Kindness is a passport that opens doors and friends. It softens hearts and can mould relationships that can last lifetimes.
